Disco 1 Battery Light

The battery light started flickering on and off yesterday and the rev counter died with it. Now the light is on and the rev counter is dead all the time. I replaced the alternator less than 10000 miles ago. I still have a charge in the battery although I have not driven it with any lights on yet or anything that would take a big drain!
All the connectors on the back of the alternator and on the battery appear to be fine.
Any ideas please?

If there is no broken wires, it will met likely be alternator/ battery, get your ammeter out and test

Sounds like your alt has died internally or maybe a short ... If your good with electrickals take it apart and check brushes etc ...
or take to an auto electrician for assessment ...
