Hi, I'm a newbie with a problem that hopefully somebody can help me with. ;)
I have a 2009 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Automatic. When starting up, battery light is not showing. After about 10 seconds, there is a slight increase in revs and the battery light comes on and stays on. Changed the battery so there is a new battery on there. Checked with voltmeter and battery is reading 12.4v when engine is not running. When car has started, battery reads 14.4v but sometimes reads 13.8v. But all the time the battery light remains on (after the 10 seconds). Any ideas what I can check to resolve this problem?

Sounds like it's not charging the battery correctly. That would point to the alternater. Pop over to the Freelander secton below for technical help.
