So off i went to enjoy a days fishing only to find on my return that i had left the lights on,
opened the door with the key and the bonnet, to connect jump leads, after a few minutes the alarm was going off the only way to stop it was to lock the door with the key,
We now have no response from the key remote buttons, enough juice in the battery to illuminate the headlights,
If i open the door with the key i can sit in the car without the alarm going off but if i try and turn the key in the ignition lock the car is imobilised, and off go,s the alarm??
I am unable to turn off the alarm with the remote buttons,
we then tried the EKA procedure at least 8 time and got the single beep ( incorrect code) every time? am I to assume that Land Rover have put the wrong code on the security card?
Does the battery need to be fully charged for this to work,

Eventually I gave up and got a lift home (80 miles round trip!) and its a bank holiday, I have the battery on charge but not feeling very optimistic about going back tommorrow, any ideas fellas?

Once you have charged the battery and refitted it you may well have no problem . Had one a few weeks ago that was doing the exact same thing after a flat battery , I was about to give up so had nothing to lose so I just disconnected the battery for a minute or two and the remote locking started working again and I could start it ok .

YES.....charge the **** outofit and try again........if no joy(it was on "only disarm with key if locked with key" mode) maybe u find somebody with a hawkeye or nanocom to help u out.

Stick your location up. Someone with a Hawkeye may be able to help.

Starcross Devon, what is hawkeye? regards

A Hawkeye is a diagnostic tool for landrovers.

Mine happens to be programmed to the D2. I am in Gunnislake on the Devon Cornwall Boarder, I think you may be fairly close to me but there will probably be someone closer.

This may be able to help find the root of your problem

"The EKA code will not be recognised if there is an interval of 10 seconds or more between key turns or if the key isheld turned for 5 seconds or more during the procedure.
In some system configurations a successful EKA code entry is indicated by the audible warning device pulsing twice for a period of 50 ms on, 200 ms off. The theft deterrent LED is switched on for 1 second, all doors unlock, the alarm disarms and the vehicle is remobilised allowing the engine to start.
If an incorrect code is entered, an audible warning is emitted and the procedure must be repeated. Up to a maximum of 10 attempts to enter the code is possible. After 10 attempts, the BCU will not allow any further codes to be entered for a period of 10 minutes."
