I mean of I disconnect them and only re install one then I should just disconnect the live from car and can leave earth strapped up in the bay ready for when I get the winch then split charge etc at once

Lads huge thanks finally making sense now. With split charge system that isolates the battery's can someone link me to a suitable buy so I can read into installation of it and it making sense.

Are they a tricky fit as that one in the link simply both lives run to it and it sorts the rest out for u

Yeah the negative won't be a problem but the spare positive will need removing or insulating well.

Lots of threads on fitting split change systems on here or a google search read a few and it may become clearer (or maybe not) it's easy enough when you get your head around it, when you get the split charge sorted then deal with the winch wiring.

OK mate sounds good. Is there a site as I say for recommended split chargers.

Will have look I think the positive is just from second battery to other so will just take the whole thing out
