Well haven't used rangi all weekend and today very nearly didn't start being that its getting colder and i had it checked, showing 46% i have been on some long jorneys latley before tessting,so I'm getting a new battery later , I know you all suggest getting the big one online , but at only £50 with a trade card I can borrow I'm going for the halfruads one, 1st 0f all get three years like the rest and second if it does fail before time i will keep Guarantee in car so I could have it changed easily if needed :( o well nothing last forever !

I used the online place and they delivered next day before 9am. A very very good service. £100 and the battery is HUGE.

I couldn't recommend them highly enough, I also can't remember the name of the website!

All well and good , but what if it dies how you going to get a new one quick if its still in. Warranty ever thought of that ? How does it work how long would you have to wait ?

Still got it. All I need is someones recent receipt for a new one, and I'll take it back!

Watch out for the inscribed date and batch code on the casing though. They can tell which shop supplied it and roughly when irrespective of the receipt details................They call it fraud prevention.

Damn. Still, it lasted the 3 years, so did what it said on the tin. Bosch has a 5 year warranty and is bigger/meatier, so hopefully one of the things I can rely on for a little while longer.

True enough, if it failed under warranty I'd be waiting a day for the replacement. It'd be a pain, but I don't use the car for business or anything so it's not the end of the world for me for it to be sat waiting a day.

They guarentee delivery before 9.30am for orders placed before 4.30 the previous day. They managed that for me.

I've never had a battery fail under warranty before though (ever), so I suppose I'm prepared to take the risk having never been stung before, and the price and delivery are hard to beat. How often do batteries fail within the warranty period? It's never happened to me or anyone I know before.

batterymegastore.co.uk they're called if you want to risk it.

I tried a Halfords battery in mine recently. Wouldn't fit. The lip around the whole bottom edge prevented it from going into the base plate. Had to go elsewhere for one without the lip.

agreed they do Rarely fail nowadays, hower if you think it's just a day away , I think not they will want it for testing , they will try charging possibly and then test all in a day, plus the bad news you got to send it, a bit of a red herring their can you imagine how much that will cost .

Yep the lip is just slightly proud of the locating tabs at the front , I slotted the front of battery side in first and it sits well the battery fastener keeps it in situ:) cover on, left door open pressed fob, nothing key in ignition turn to position 1 wait fire up all done abs fault lol 2nd key try fob nothing put in ignition turn to position one wait fire up sorted no warning all sorted, did notice the red wire going to fuse box from battery bolt was slightly loose , let's see if my random alternator fault disappears now!

So which battery type is used for the 4.6 hse p38? By type I mean '069' etc. What amps per hour etc should I be looking for? Mines showing 12.30v then 13.99 when charging!

Battery Megastore
I got one about 10 months ago but it seems to be losing voltage overnight and thats with it disconnected tried to have it load tested but seing as its a sealed battery the electrician would not load test it.at the moment the car is laid up but will be started every month so I will see how it goes.
