Bastarding grinder spark

Got hit in the eye with a grinder spark that got inside the goggles

Hurts like a mother****er, gonna pop down to the gp to have it looked at and buy some better goggles from homebase or B & Q

ouch

better goggles sounds like the best option... if using wickes / B-and-screw-it they do price matching, so just find the price at Tool Station and get them to price match it (Tool Station is the cheapest i've found to date)

Yaaaaa, feels like I've got a black eye

Swollen up a little too so I'm going to see if theres anything lodged in it or if they have some sort of antiseptic eyedrops to make it stop hurting and clean it up

Get yerself down to the eye department at A&E, save yerself a trip to ya GP cos that's what they'll tell ya to do.

I've made it to A&E now under my own steam and I'll just tell them I took the bus here if they ask
Not gonna leave my discovery here by itself or have to call in backup

Fanatic, it does hurt bad now even after some codine so hoping I get seen to soon, had the preliminary nurse exam now just waiting for the doctor to come fix it

only time ive had one in the eye i was wearin goggles..... i use a full face shield now... the glasses dont steam up like they do in goggles.

I got this bit of iron in my eye as an engineering sprog 40 years ago whilst fettling a casting with an air grinder.. It went in deep so no way was it coming out again.
Stupid thing is I still take chances without protection at times:doh:

Grinding without proper eye protection is dumb dumb dumb just don't do it you only get one pair of eyes and you really really don't want to lose your sight. but we've all done it

ive had to go A+E four times now for bits of metal in my eye, you would of thought i had learnt my leason by now :doh:

I've got some better 3M goggles now with sealed channel vents, not going to A&E again it's a **** take, almost 3 hours to get seen to because a kid with a cut on his knee needed seeing to but he was still well enough to run round the waiting room

Get them often always best to go straight to AnE as i left one once because it wasnt to bad but after 3 days it went rusty, they took the bit of metal out and i had to go back 4 days later to have the rust out and that took 30 mins... never again

have to say I had swarf in the eye twice in the few moths doing all the sheetmetal on the 72 and I was wearing a full face shield both times!

at the odd anlgles of deflection under a car it always finds its way in!

Ahhh well with just a burnt eyelid I'll take that and run, coulda got rust eye like the hamster so I suppose it's all good in the grand scheme of things

A mate of mine did the same. Ended up in moorfields where they used some feckin enormous magnet to get it out.

That and arc eye hurts like **** been there done it working under motors and thinking it will be alright cause its only a little job and not wanting to spend 10 mins getting set up proper then spending 3-4 hrs in A&E never again till the next time.
