glad to hear it mate,so you'll be back at it tommorow then, looking forward to seeing the finished result.

Thanks Si, yeah back to it tomorrow if the rain holds off to grind down the recent welds

Paints arrived too so I'll be sanding down the body, got all my oils to put in too and underseal to further hide the welds.

All I need now is some extra exhaust parts, brake fluid, new slotmag rims and new seals for the doors and windows

Been there before hurts Like a mofo. That and arc eye learnd my lessons on that the hard way.

done it as well working on an exhaust system. bit of rust ended up in my eye and had to be cut out. They numb your eye then scrape it with what appeared to be a pin.
working under vehicles with glasses not always practical, but health and safety in the work place demand it.

I'm with magicol. These "diy" shops stuff isnt usually up to industrial use. Just generic chinese crap....after all they only have lil eyes. Haha

Machine mart or similar everyday.hope ya eyes better. From experience bet it hurts like a motherfkr

Yaaaah thanks for that, I've just gone and had a look

The DeWalt ones are much tougher than my 3M ones I bought yesterday so I've ordered a pair of them from machinemart and I'm gonna return the 3M's and use to money to get some more brake fluid

Only £20 with next day delivery so should hopefully arrive tomorrow or monday latest, I'll just wear my welding mask tomorrow when I'm angle grinding if it doesn't arrive thene

I got this bit of iron in my eye as an engineering sprog 40 years ago whilst fettling a casting with an air grinder.. It went in deep so no way was it coming out again.
Stupid thing is I still take chances without protection at times:doh:

And if you ever go for an MRI scan please tell them.....cos if you think it hurt on the way in........it'll be a bastid on the way out.

I have heard that but I thought that had been shown to be urban myth?

So is it sorted then, or still in there?

A mate of mine did the same. Ended up in moorfields where they used some feckin enormous magnet to get it out.
anyone any where round london are better off going straight to moorfield rather than the local AnE

ok sohaving read the horror stories here.... what's the best thing to get for Kai to use? Remember he only has a little head so standard size goggles leave a little gap at the edges. He has a welding mask (one of those self darkening thingys) but if there is something better I can get him that will help ward off metal in the eye then I'll buy it for him!

Always goggles for grinding, glasses are not good enough.
Try your local arco or greenhams or parkers etc

get an old full face crash helmet, nowt will get in there if it fits right:D iv'e always used uvex or bolle goggles ,they are like ski goggles and fit snug with no gaps.
