Does anybody in South Wales or nearby have a ball joint removal tool that i can borrow or hire, for the front upper and lower ball joints on a disco2?
Or any great tips about how to go about this task?
Cheers

Hi there, there are a few from the "Garage of Google" that are pretty good! Can't help with the tool though?
Will be starting mine tomorrow

I did both NS ones yesterday,
Lots of penetrating spray.

I used the vids on yourtube as quick guide on how it was done by others. i.e. Swearing and skinned knuckles vid is O.

Splitting the knuckle , I used two halfords pickle forks and a 10lbs sledge.

I used the big G clamp kit in the red box, Removal took quite a bit of force, used a 22mm spanner and a scaffold pole and also 22mm impact socket on a 600mm breaker bar on the g clamp to wind it down.
Had to grind one of the fittings to fit the bottom ball joint on refitting. As it has a bit of a contour.

All told, not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Cheers

Glad you got it done in the end Sir

I used a ball joint kit, a pneumatic impact gun, a 40oz bottle of Olde English Malt Liquor and some very stern words got mine to come out.

Could you please tell me the Very Stern words used??
As a Landrover owner! Many expletives are used to fix things or take things off?? So just wondering if you could share your "Stern Words" to the Forum to help other owners?? Hahahaha

put the new joints in the freezer overnight to shrink them
Heat the ball joint holes on the axle....

The ball joints more or less drop in :)
