Does anybody in South Wales or nearby have a ball joint removal tool that i can borrow or hire? Or any great tips about how to go about this task?
Many thanks in advance

What vehicle?
Which ball joint?
Probably be better in the vehicle specific forum.

Buy 1 they are not a lot of money, less than postage for a borrowed 1.

Or the 2 hammer trick:eek: don’t ask:) just buy 1, you will use it again.

I presume you're looking for a tool to press the old joints out of the arms & new ones in?

I think marjon is talking about separating the ball joint pin from its hole - which uses a completely different (and cheap) tool or the two hammer trick.

Ah ok, its a disco 2! I'll do that now, thanks for the heads up. Its the front upper and lower ball joints

You can buy similar 'universal' tools off the bay for £40 ish but I've no idea how good they would be.
Done similar balljoints on my Sprinter but took the wishbone off & used my press. MB use a hydraulic version of the one in the clip to do them on the vehicle but their price to do one was a lot more than the cost of the press & a pair of new joints!
