bad vibes 200tdi

my 200 tdi disco has some bad vibrations when driving. it is fine up to about 40 then there is alot of play in the steering and if i hit a bump in the road the whole car seems to want to shake itself to death. if i slow down it goes away or if going fast enough i can speed up and it goes away too dont think it does it above 70 mph.

It starting to get annoyin any one got any ideas what it could be i have got new panhard rod bushes to put on as was told there play in them

Lots of possible issues, worth a search as it's been covered a few times.

In essence, start at checking tyre pressures, wheel bearings, UJ's and props, swivel pre-loads, all bushes front and rear including the A-frame ...

Oh, and the steering damper and steering linkaes ..
