Absolute nob. It's because of people like him they banned anyone going on there. Shame as its a great place for off roading.

i'm no recovery expert, infact quite the novice, with off roading as well but I cringed something rotten watching those video's... why use the winch if they had ropes anyway?

It was quite clear to me that winch was under too much strain and I've never used a winch in my life!

I don't know what winch that was they were using, but that cable looked pretty flimsy. The cable on my Tirfor looks to be almost twice as thick as the wire they were using.

I think tommy is a right tit! You wouldn't catch me "jumping" a disco deliberately with no cage... especially with my mates stood so close!

martin, like I say, I know nout about winching really apart from what my common sense tells me and I was cringing just before it snapped - I've heard what them things can do to a chav when they snap :D

I'm absolutely no expert, I'm a horse trailer tower, but in this vid even I was curling me toes watching this, and is it just me or is everyone in this vid, including the motocross kids, and ESPECIALLY the videoer and narrator the most annoying $*>€%<!$! ever?

was a bike incident that got the place closed.
its an operational quarry that turned a blind eye on sunday off roading for the last 15 years. two bikes crashed requiring air ambulance, then tried sueing council for damages. council clamped down on quarry owners, then everyone got turfed off.
used to spend some good sundays up there. shame as you say, its the idiots that spoilt it.

I'm no expert on recovery, having never done it myself, but people like this give Off-roaders a bad name...

the quarry would be liable. I worked on a land fill that was used by crossers. There were 3 generations over their one sunday, you know right at the back of the site so they wouldnt get caught and that. Then the kid, watched by dad (probbably 20) and gramps (probbably 35) did a jump. Got some sweet air. Landed on his face, sanpping his neck in the process. Fitting and drowning in his own blood ensued. Ambulance was called.couldnt find a enetrace, cos they were shut for the weekend-the family outing started with a bit of opening pallisade fences with a jar jack. So air ambulance was called. It arrived quickly but couldnt land cos the site was so uneven. BAD dozer driver, BAD...Go to your room!!! So eventually lande but hems stuggled over rough ground, trolley was a no no so was stretched off. whole process took bout 2 hrs.Long story short, junior lived but was vegitable. The site operator was "liable" cos they only spent 50 quid per meter to secure the 44 hectare site boundary. The family tried to sue-even though they broke in. Last i heard they werent gonna win but legal fees were rediculaaaas.
