Those buggers at Tesco's have just upped the price of Pura veg oil 1ltr from 56p to £1.07!!!! as well as upping their own brand from 78p to 98p, obviously i am outraged and disguted at their tactics to get me to buy their diesel!

£1.07? It must be costing them more to drill for vege oil out in the north sea. .......Oh I forget.......They don't have to drill for it.

Bastids. Even Harry Ramsdens Veg oil is cheaper in Tesco's at £1.99 for 2 litres.

Lidl 11.70 for 15 litres but dont tell oddie
Oops, missed this one yer cheeky bu99er! Me storage capacity's full at the moment so don't worry, yer stocks are safe - am now glad i stocked up when i did (and dint none of yer start wiv that 'it's people like you wot put the price up hoarding" malarky, tis a drop in the veg oil ocean!)

Still liking the idea that it will be fuelling our boilers soon with non-food grade veg oil, available for bulk purchase - although sure as groundnuts is nuts (well, peanuts, which ain't really nuts) by then the gov will slap some massive tax on em coz they'll be found to be environmentally insensitive or some new bandwagon about how we're trashing the planet.

Anyone tried the old 'home brew' with WVO? just been looking online at kits, a bit pricey but if your gonna save a fortune it would be worth it.
The idea of j-clothes and buckets kinda puts me off!

Whilst your all on the veg oil convo, do any of you mix your veg oil with abit of petrol or white spirit?

Led to believe your Disco may also die in the forseable future if u mix it wrong!
All your doing is insuring the SVO ignites, but the fuel pipes are 4mm thick so it should be heated enough this time of year depending on your mixture, im 50D/50SVO at the moment but intend reducing it more in warmer weather. Read the topics related to this they helped me. Any saving on £115.9 per ltr is a boost!

what a disgrace our government is taxing all you ppl. I work in Saudi and just filled up my Toyota (sorry no Landies here I'm afraid) cost me 27 SAR or 4 GDP! its for nothing here and no one is telling the middle east what to do on the environmental front either, just us suckers who live in Europe

Cheers Sirus, just went to another Lidls 12 miles away and got the 78p veg oil, will do till i get to Cosco's, the out-laws say its 20 litres for £13.90 there.

Hi,

I had a look at the veg oil in costco, and they had 2 diferent 20L drums but they both have got additives in, one being an antifoaming agent. I read on one of the threads on here that it shouldn't have any additives (i.e 100% veg oil or rapeseed oil) especially not the antifoaming agent.

Ok cheers mate, i'm just starting to get into it, and my first lot just put in 30L SVO 60L D, but don't can't decide if i'm going to carry on running on it or not. If i do i probably won't go more than 30/60 mix anyway. Might just run on biodiesel from a supplier, that would be the easier way to go. I have thought about making it myself!!;)
