Just bought another defender after a lay off from them, looked like this on the forecourt.
But now looks like this.
Don't know what I did, but the top picture is it now.

I am not now sure I like the new look, I might remove the big wheels and arches and go for some nice white wolf wheels, it's only for road use, I got the "off roading" and trailing out of my system years ago.

Looked fine the way it was, good tyres anorl! Those wheel arches always remind me of DFS sofas! :D

;) Know what you mean about the arches, it was cock up after cock up, the wheels had a bigger offset than I thought, and plastered the side in crap including the door handles, so as they cost so much I bought the arches to cover them, luckily, if I remove them, I kept the original arches underneath, so I just have to fill some holes and touch them up.
As for the tyres, I always preferred generals to bfg, just my opinion, and the bfg's were new when I bought the car.

You tend to get a bit of oversplash on the body in wet conditions even with standard tyres. :) Nothing to worry about.

This wasn't just over splash, they stuck out 2" more than the standard arches, and as most of my driving is in rural areas, it really did get plastered, including the side windows and mirrors.
