Back on the road :o))))

At last!!! With some fantastic help from 2 very special guys on this forum who have helped not just with the breaking down of my old 300tdi but also the purchase of a new disco, but also helped to keep me sane whilst i've been off the road, today I am picking up my new 51 plate Td5...excited much??! I think they could both hear me screaming with joy when the auction closed lol A massive Thank you to you both Drew n Dale, you will never know how much you have helped me on this entire situation.

This afternoon/tomorrow I will be busy transferring my bits out of the Tdi into the Td5 then my dear old Tdi will be ready to go to her new home, more than likely offroading at a place near you haha!

I haven't had chance to take any to be honest, I picked her up late this afternoon/evening ... dark n rainy i'm afraid, pics will be taken over next few days

Well done, err, Colin......You deserve a bit of good luck, hope it serves you well. I would have liked to have seen the TD5 when you viewed it, but I have been upto my eyes in it all weekend, Verwood was a tad far unfortunately.

next mission....to find out why the ciggie lighter doesn't work, coz without this my 2 little one's can't watch their dvd's in her ( more than likely a really simple thing, but will read through the forum n see if i can find anything lol

Fuses first.......Not sure where the box is on a TD5

Td5 is mega compared to D1. Ok ok they are still rusty and still go wrong, but they're a far superior road car. Enjoy

Just seen this hun there's an accessory socket in the boot that works, so not sure if it would be a fuse, judgin by some comments on a post i posted last nite its common practice for the wire to be loose behind the lighter....now to figure out how to get to it haha i WILL crack this problem lol

looks like you have to take out the center consol.
before you do that check that the cigar lighter socket is clean and rust free. try cleaning it first and it should work ok, seen this many times dirty rusty cig llighter sockets.

You can JUST about get to the back of the socket to check the wiring plug if you undo the four bolts in the cubby box, the two in front of the transfer case lever (under the rubber mat) and put the handbrake on tight. You can lift the rear for a bit of clearance to squeeze your petit female hand in there
