After a long few months without a landy (ours got written off), I've finally got another

My question is, I've also been offered a set of bullbars to go with it, are there any legal implications to fitting it to our Disco?

Morally I know it's frowned upon, but our last Disco got front ended by some idiot and I was hoping to prevent it happening again....

If there proper landrover bullbars which were available as a factory fitted option. Then no, as my mate has a set of these on her 93 disco and the insurance company has them down as light protectors?? If it's an aftermarket option then you might have to shop around to get a quote or even pay a bit extra to get covered. But it won't be a major problem.

Yeah some insuranve companies can be funny over bullbars, make sure u mention them when getting quotes

Thanks for that guys, already taken out insurance...but I'll check with em before contemplating getting the bullbar in case I get grief off the boys in blue.

my insurance dont give a fook as its commercially covered and off road enhancements are to do with my job but there is a big but CHECK YOUR INSURANCE COVERS YOU FOR GREEN LANEING if you intend doing it as most wont cover it (around here any way )ive just put a A frame bull bar on and seperate light guards on which does not change the policy in any way

Yeh it does depend who you go with, alot dont like 'modfications'. There not illegal to put on but you cant buy new ones apart from the plastic FPS systems. Just finding a decent 2nd hand one is the key. Ebay's good for em, we've bought 3 bars (2 discos one series) and never paid more than £25

Ah ebay, the wife dreads me going on there! The motor in our N/S mirror had died, got a complete mirror unit in mint condition for £20, much better than the £100 brand new cost. She might get off my case about ebay now lol.
