Well fellas, thanks to the advice fixing my smashed door, I made it to and from bonny Jockland...

Have to admit, out of 5 motors (04 Rangey TD6 Vogue, 06 Touareg V6D, 04 Kia Sorrento, Mitsu L200 Animal + mine) the TD4 5 door was by FAR the best off road!

Every car, barring the Mitsubishi and mine, got stuck and I beat the Mitsu up a slippy hill!

The Kia even lost it on snow and went into a ditch... took ten stout lads to push it out, plus a tow!

Only one question, is that my Freeby has starter making a funny clunk when I am on full lock... sounds like it's coming from the rear diff or VCU area. Not a mega clunk, but I can feel it whn it happens.

Any clues!?!?!?

yup great motor orft road. . .peeps slag it but there is not many better and the ones that are , are all lrs. . . .check all yer rear mountings shotgun , also ya vcu mountings quite commom not exspensive, go search, lot in there. . . .:)

The clunk is like a "stepping" sound coming from the rear and it is noticeable more when reversing. I'm not panicking just yet... I've done a search and will check the VCU (paint-a-line trick) and the diff mounts etc.

Any other suggestions gratefully received!

diff mounts nope - its a diy jobby - do a search.
Prop uj's are integral with prop (so i believe) - mine cost be about £300, but VCU bearings and mounts are diy stuff - deffo a post on here coz i dun it;)
