Hi guys

As you know i have recently switched to steel modular's with 265 insa turbo special tracks fitted and atm i still have the old spare 265 A/T on ally freestyle on the rear door and as mine is a county the rear door is strengthend to take a spare on the door.

i know there is a big difference in weight between both spare setups and i know there are two types of rear doors that are fitted to other defender's but want to know is there anyone out there that has either had a 265 special track and modular fitted to a strengthend rear door or got a 265 special track and modular wheel fitted to there rear door and do there doors carry it well :)

I had a 285/75 on my rear door for a while. Bent the door a tiny bit, was noisy as hell, I'm amazed it didn't make the glass shatter tbh.

Cornish,

when I got my 110 SW it came with a brand new rear door from SP Landover's (the original door was splitting in two). I must admit I wasn't aware there were strengthened doors for station wagons so I didn't think about it and transferred the spare wheel carrier to the new door and it has been there for a year with no dramas. No sag, no cracks just a very heavy rear door. It is carrying a steel modular with an Insa Desert track 265/75 x16

Cheers for that yeah my rear door is in good con'd with no sags, dents, or cracks and is fairly light to open, just trying to find out wether its just peeps with the weaker doors fitted that have all the problems :)

i have a very solid rear door, no rust and a 235 85 made the hinges droop if you parked on anything but level ground.

they just can't take the weight mate. i'd either stick it inside, on a roof rack, bonnet or get a swing away.
