back chassis is rusted on discovery 2.

Hi folks im new to this forum so hope i get it right. Ive recently purchased a w reg discovery 2 td5, I bought it with engine problems and ive fixed these but since cleaning it up underneath i have found it to be rotten in a few places on the back chassis. Im concerned as we tow a caravan and its an older one so heavy, especially with the wife and kids stuff in. Is it ok to get it welded up or do i need to replace part of it? Any advice will be gratefully received!!! Thanks in advance.
