Ok then, got a baby hoopfish due on New years eve.
I am looking in to car seats/travel systems/push chairs.
The last time we had a baby we had a Recaro seat but i cant say i was all that happy with the fit,so any one got any recommendations for the best fitting seat for a Disco 1.
What worked what didn't?

Regards
Terry.

You post about a new baby and its your 666th post:D

What age group seat are you looking at?

If its rockatot then I had to use the base as the seatbelt wasn't right in the Disco 1, I went from that to Britax one which was good for a few years but I did have the occasion where it was to close to the wheel arch and sat funny, I moved from that to a Graco one that you can split in to a booster seat.

mothercare have always been helpful when we had ours, last time we had the poor lass bring about 8 or 9 seats out to try in our car, we didn't buy from there on the day (although did end up back there)

For my Disco i ended up buying another front passenger seat belt and fitted it to the back seat as found the original back seat belts were too short for a lot of the infant seats.

Anyway my mrs bought a silver cross travel system which come with the chair and it fits in quite well to the back seat and I am pretty happy with it. The other option is this from maxi cosi which passes the seat belt through a base then the chair clips into the base. The nice thing about the maxi cosi seats is a lot of the other pushchair/travel system manufacturers make adapters for them. You will have to check if this goes in the disco alright though as i havent actually tried it. Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2

I think im going to go down this rout with M/C and Halfrauds, just try them all!.

Britax recommend the babysafe plus shr 2, AND this fits onto the silver cross surf chassis, which I quite like the look of and is cheaper than others I quite like! So maybe we will look at that one first ;-)

We got the surf and i cant fault it, I also have the Out n About nipper for when i take the little one off roading. Dont bother wasting your money on one of the carry cot things that goes on the travel systems. Our little one was fine in the normal seat with all the padding.

The surf does seem to have good reviews all round but I could also do with something for a bit of off roading living where we live!

The surf is pretty terrible 'off road' but saying that i am sure all of the chassis with the small castor front wheels are the same. Worse thing i found with our surf was pushing it across our old gravel driveway. If i was to have any pushchair it would be the out n about as cant fault it and they are cheaper than a lot of the others.
