Ignore this. @gstuart already supplied the answer in a previous post. 👍 it’s in Bodsy’s brake bible 👍
I’m not sure how you delete a thread.

a mod has to delete the thread , personally got my axle stands and 3 x ton jack from here, if u want me to list the exact ones plse let me know and will be happy to link it

also not wishing to try and teach u how to suck eggs but are u aware of disabling the suspension before lifting it otherwise can cause damage if not done correctly

no probs

ref suspension

raise it to off road height
Crack wheel nuts
remove fuse F26 from engines fuse box of battery terminals
ok now to jack the vehicle up , then place axle stands underneath

be careful when putting the fuse back as the suspension will drop very quickly so need to be aware in case there’s anything near it

jack

axle stands

axke stand rubber Mounts for above

they also do combination sets of jacks and axle stands

hope that helps , plus have sent u a PM

Brill. Thank you.

Quick pointer, the suspension travel on these vehicles is impressive, you might need to pack out with wood. I need to raise my 3 ton jack (400mm+ reach) and axle stands (6 ton per pair) with timber to get rear wheels of my l322 off the ground

***Extremely sketchy levels and materials used, I do not recommend this so please everyone, don't boĺlock me I know this is shìt I will be working out a much safer set up before getting underneath the car***

This is first time I've jacked the range up, just a feasibility test to see if I could even use my current jack. I wouldn't work under this, i could push the car and it would sway a little. I was only working in wheel arches tho.

I'll be investing in some railway sleepers and some more 3/4" ply. Also making wooden pads for the subframe mounts

Jack needed to be raised off the floor even with this custom extension adding 140mm

Take your time and please be safe, D3/full fat range rover and range rover sport are not tupenny hapenny things to safely raise on the drive.

I've had D2, 110 and D3 up in the air on this drive and D3 and this range have been most challenging. As you can see, I've got work to do before I can get this one safely off the ground

but don’t forget mate you’ve got common sense and thought about exactly what u was doing

ie, not using those bloody scissor jacks , never forget I used one on my old FL1 and was on a slight slope , think i would have been close to the F1 pit stop tyre changing group for swapping a tyre lol

think the low line 3 x ton jack I’ve got now has a max 535mm lift and must confess has been fine on the D3 with no issues

I've heard stories about the l322 scissor jacks, cash saving exercise by bmw apparently 😬

You say I've got common sense but that's the stupidest thing I've done for a while supporting that car like that 😆 my jacks 435mm i think without the extension for centre of subframe so I'm going to make a dedicated platform for it because I don't want to shell out when its perfectly capable of lifting the weight.

Doesn't help the concrete pad and tarmac are different levels and the tarmac isn't flat either. 3/4" ply boards to smooth it all out and some proppa beefy sleepers to raise the kit I think 👌

see what u mean ref different heights

wonder if u could get some steel box sections , then a metal plate over the top , but suppose the only thing would be the steel when it gets wet and therefore slippery , maybe an anti slip material over the top so then with that to bring it all lever for u

also wonder if these would work, i used them for my shed base , hasnt budges an inch for over 10 x years , of course understand there a massive weight difference , will have a look to see what the weight bearing is , maybe a sheet of steel or marine ply over the top where it goes from nothing to say a few inches difference

dont know how much it would cost to concrete it all level, a good few grand I imagine by the time u dig it all up etc

Oh wow , they can handle

shed base grid panels are proven to withstand 428 tonnes per m² of compression before being filled with gravel and weighs just over 5kg per m².

just a thought in case they may be useful to u

fill with gravel the concrete over the top and shutter sides,

fill with gravel the concrete over the top and shutter sides,

talking of that is it MOT gravel etc that can be compacted for when concrete is put over the top plse , also wonder if wire mesh would help keep it all together , or some L shaped pins drilled into the ground for the concrete to bind onto ?

suppose it would only need a few degrees slope for water run off

To be honest its not expensive dig it out, hire a mixer, use rebar 4x2 shuttering, and a good concrete mix, 2 chaps with beer and sarnies could smash that out in a weekend easy.
I would not bother getting concrete delivered for that size

I did a 10m x 5m @8 inch deep for the carport had the concrete (C20 volumetric mix on site) plus fibres delivered so that was about £950 for the concrete, do the math there was a lot of it! No MOT base for me just DMP sheet on the compacted dirt.

My moms got a few spare, good shout! They'd do for raising axle stands then

I was going to get some marine ply boards to take up diff between concrete and tarmac then build a little platform for the jack out of railway sleepers and more ply for a top. Smooth but grippy enough 👍🏻

I do want to concrete it in the future, I'd do it myself so it would be cheaper, just tool hire and materials

Yep me and matey who I used to do concrete repair with would smash it, hes retired now so it'd take a few beers to convince him 😀
