I like the idea of making some, they could be used to simply stand the axle on (when repainting) or, if they had interchangeable tops used to support an engine, or a chassis, or a gear/transferbox.
With the right adaptors you could support a bulkhead or a tub, if you had 4 they could form the base of a variable height work table.
The uses are only limited by your imagination.
My welding isn't the best but i'd happily make, to a plan, a set of stands.
