Hi Guys,
Just purchased a 2002 4.4 V8 Vogue RR and am reading through my manuals and have come across a section describing the Auxiliary fuel burning heater that can either be programed on the computer or activated with a key pad, which will heat up your car to desired temp prior to entry. In the Audio, TV and NAV book it gives instructions on how to program it but in the owners manual it says 'Some vehicles are equipped with remote heater control' My question is how would I know if it had this fature ? (ie the remote part )did all the vogues have this option or was it an optional extra, as I could see this being an excellant feature in the winter.

Thanks..............Adam

Hi Adam

Think it was an option on the Vogue as i have a 2003 TD6 Vogue and it doesn't have the heat function. Think it would come up in the display as an option if you had it fitted but then again i may be wrong as im only guessing.

Regards

Nick

Thanks for reply,
Have found out that I have the heat option, like you say it is displayed on my screen, but still am non the wiser over the remote part, I'll pop down to the dealer sometime and ask the question.

V8's dont have a fuel burning heater, only the diesels do.

On early diesels, the fuel burning heater comes on automatically when the car is started and the outside air temp is below 5 degrees. On later models there is a remote as standard to turn it on and warm the car while you have breakfast.

Hi I'm Tim (nickname) Tim'llfixit, and I have a TD6 with an aux heater that works when I start the engine, I had heard that this can be started by remote so got a remote and had a look on the forum how to get it to work. Having looked behind the fusebox in the rear right hand cavity I find nothing and cannot see the white plug also mentioned in the forum. Does this mean that I cannot have remote activation?

When you fix it let us know:D:D

I read somewhere that ALL diesel equipped Vogues come with the diesel powered heater. I have not verified this. It sits under the battery tray if you have it. My petrol 2003 Vogue might not have the heater. The Auxilary Ventilation menu entry is on my control panel but I assume this does not mean I actually do have a petrol burning heater installed.
