HELP. I"ve just had a new Automatic Gear selection Indicator delivered for my 2003 TD4. I want to replace it because when I select Reverse the light doesn"t show up on the old one. It"s the display to the right of the Auto Gear stick. I"ve taken the old one out but I"m struggling to disconeect the Wiring which looks like a simple push in, but I"ve struggled trying to release it and I don"t want to damage it so I thought I would find out if there"s a right way to do it. I can"t find anything on any of the old threads
Anyone have any ideas.

From memory. It's a lever lock type connector, so you need to swing the lever over to release it.

Thanks for the reply but you"ve completely lost me. I don"t know what a lever lock is and what lever are you talking about?

Please I"m not ungrateful but I have no idea what I"m doing and the part cost me over £50 and as an OAP I can"t afford to damage.it so will someone please tell me how to remove the wire connectoion???.

I don't have an auto, I would imagine you need to release that clip over the top in this photo and then remove the socket...

That's the thing GG. I didn't have a picture myself, so punched this one.

I've marked what needs to be done.
Push the part with the red dot in, so releasing this clip.

The move the lever marked blue in the direction of the blue arrow. This will eject the plug from the socket.

You two geezers are brilliant. I tried moving it one way but didn"t think of pulling it backwards. Thank you very much. Job done.
