hi

i dont know how u guys have got on with this software but recently bought an autocom cdp pro software where i was assured 100% would work on my 2002 td4 pre obd2 freelander

but on buying it i didnt realise i would have to mess around with patching the software and using cracks etc, to say the least after 2 weeks it will not load

bought it from an uk company who must admit were very good and trying to get it to work,

ive now returned it and will get a full refund

just wished to let u know , dont go near the software

going to invest in a hawkeye and at least i know it will work and buying it through bearmach

will then hopefully be able to see if there are any faults etc

wished to at least give u guys a heads up in case u were thinking of buying it, from my own experiance on my 2002 model, dont go near it

hope u didnt mind me telling you about it

when i get the hawkeye hooefully u wont mind me picking ur brains if anything comes up,

daft question can the hawkeye print any data out etc, or be able or plug it into a laptop to upload the data etc please

Being the first to buy something is always a risk. It's surprising how many "items" are said to work with Freelander's and they don't. It's good to know you've got your getting your money back.

Hawkeye is a stand alone device. It will not print out or connect to a printer. It will not connect to a computer to upload results/data etc but it will connect to a computer to have it's own software upgraded.

When you receive your Hawkeye you will need to send oft your serial number and choice of model by email. Freelander 1 is different to Freelander 2. You will then get a long code back which to enter into the Hawkeye which activates the Hawkeye to work with the model you chose. That's if your buying the Hawkeye like I have in the video's below.

hiya

picked up my hawkeye today and ordered all my rear suspension at the same time, from bearmach as i wanted oem bits without paying dealer prices,

ive sent off the email to omitec with the serial number and make model etc, so will wait until i hear back from them , horrible as i cant play with my new toy

did notice however about the adaptors and it saying in the list about i may need a grey one as mines a 2002, but the plug does fit my diagnostic socket

been looking for a full manual, found one that just lists the tests etc it does and how to do the full unlock once ive got the code back,

plus i checked out my landy today and found the top quarter of my rear drivers spring has snapped, but didnt even. notice it, but expect will notice the difference one ive got the new struts and springs fitted.

sounds daft but does the hawkeye tell me if for example a maf sensor is out of range or its a case of it works or it doesnt

hopefully i wont need the grey adaptor, but really nice ive got one at last

thks so much again guys

Hi Gary,

It will tell you the value returned from the MAF sensor, but not whether it is faulty (unless it's disconnected and the reading is zero) . You will need to compare the value returned with the acceptable limits for that sensor.

Not sure if this is pre-programmed into the hawk eye or not.

Good luck with it though.

Nearly got rid of mine today, test drove another van for work, all good, was about to sign on the dotted line. Then got called out to Tower Hamlets this evening and had to squeeze into the smallest contractor bay imaginable, which I just fitted in. There is no way I would have got the replacement into the space which would have meant a massive walk and having to pay parking.

Drove home through rotherhithe/greenwich onto A2, stuck in traffic, air con blasting away, decided the freelander stays !

(just got to ring the poor woman up tomorrow to give her the bad news !)

thks buddy, have found them, was going to get a piece of paper and write down what i can from the hawkeye read out, once i get my code that is, lol

sorry to be a pain is there a site, link please that lists what the readout should be for said sensors please

thks again

No lists other than my video's. On mine I made a list (video) of values when off, engine on tick over when cold and warm for comparison later on.

hi

thks for that, got my long code today and will be putting it into the unit tommorow and a very good idea doing it with engine off, hot and cold,

got the synergy box fitted so could also test it disconnected and connected also to see how readings change

i know for the last 3 years since ive owned the freelander its not beeen on a diagnostic machine and will be interesting to see what fault codes come up and of course working out what they mean

thks so much once again and on my testing if thats ok to list my findings and nice to know at least it will work and not like so many chinese crap thats on the market
