ok box seams ok under normal driving but if you kick down it hits 4000 revs and box seams to stop accelerating revs stay up take foot off and go light on accelerator speed climes.
any ideas

Main forward drive clutch slipping likely.

Worth changing the oil with some of that Lucas transmission fix?
Ok slight change but little things can make big difference
As before but revs stay at 4000 for couple of seconds then drop about 2600 reapply throttle revs up then down it as if something is disengaging drive then limiting revs could torque converter disengage and ecu cut power

No you have a clutch slipping. Probably caused by a sticky valve block. Drive it quietly for a while and see if the Lucas frees it.

next on list oil change 4l run it for a bit and then lucas and another 4l

When you drain the oil you will only get about 5 litres out. Drain change filter add Lucas and fluid to level. Run quietly and gently for a few weeks and note any improvement. If things improve drain again add further Lucas and new fluid. It may get a bit expensive but if it works it's cheaper than a new box.

A new fuel filter sometimes helps. Because the gearbox may be acting up doesn't mean the gearbox has the problem.

Maf sensor, engine temperature sensor, fuel filter not 100% etc. All these can upset the gearbox.

The best example of this was one sunday morning. Recovery truck arrives. This particular range rover had been to two main dealers, three independent land rovers, 3 gearbox's later, & I found the fault within two mins. Engine temperature sensor costing £15. Lots of embarissed people over that one.
