How can I get an 03 td5 auto to not slip as much and work so hard all the time. A tuned td5 should have plenty of torque available so why does it not improve?

Is there any mods that can be done with clutches, solenoids etc to get a more direct drive?

Is different oil an option?

Does chipping and bigger intercooler help? Obviously more uumph but will it mak it easier going?

Thanks in advance.

Buy a manual gearbox !!!!!

Clutch slippage is an essential part of an autobox operation, below about 50mph, it you don't like it, change the car:(

Yes, I agree! I do not think I am suited to autos. Anyone want to swap an auto for a manual? Mine is an 03 es with 4x TV screens and all the full electric gizmos. DVD player, black leather and all mint condition at 54 k miles.

Ah'll swap ye for a freelander manual.
Mines is 1997 to 2002 (R reg onwards) it does both petrol and diesel. It's got loads of piccies and has loads of pages too. Not many miles, almost new.
