hallo to all dont know if this is the right place to put it but here goes have a 90 with rangie 4speed auto does anyone know if the gearing is diffrent in the auto box from a petrol or diesel cheers

COMPLETELY

autobox uses an epicyclic geartrain, a sun gear with two planet gears and a ring gear around the outside.

Manual is a standard synchro(constant)mesh box.

hi thanks for reply the problem is i have a auto box from a rangie with a 200tdi discovery engine it pulls like a train up to 50 from 50 to 65 it struggles after that it dosent want to know i was told auto boxes have diffrent gears for petrol a diesel and this could be the problem ?

ya it will have different ratios in each of its "gears" But then it will only have 3-4 gears, and also makes use of a liquid drive or torque converter, its pretty difficult to compare to be honest!

Manual boxes are much more cut and dry.
