Auto Gearbox Problem

When my TD5 has warmed up after being driven for a few miles, the LED indicators on the gear selector and the dashboard display become intermittant. When this happens, changing from N to D, the box is reluctant to change up from low gear. I can correct this by changing to 3 & back to D again. All is then OK & the car drives normally until I need to select N again at which point the problem starts over again.
This problem only happens when the car has warmed up, all is OK at first when the car is cold.
I would really appreciate any suggestions. Ta.

drain some oil out and check colour cupful is enough do it when cold as you wont get plug back in when hot

Thanks, the Oil was changed a couple of weeks ago.

what colour was old ,oil colour and condition is very helpful diagnostic wise on autos

Afraid I cannot answer this, the oil was changed by the 4X4 garage from which I purchased the car 2 months ago.
