Auto Gearbox F4 when cold, clears when switched off and on once warmed up

Hi,

My Freelander 1 V6 with the jatco 506e gearbox has a fault where it will not change out of 1st when cold and then goes into F4 limp home mode. If I drive on a while until the engine temp shows in the middle of the range and then switch the ignition off and then re-start the car, the gearbox performs normally.

I have changed all of the solenoids for new ones and the resistance test for all the solenoids and sensors are in the correct range.

I found a post on this exact same issue on an Australian LR forum but unfortunately the thread went cold without a resolution.

Any ideas?

You need to read the code.

Moisture, corrosion or poor connections in the barrel connector?
