Auto Electrician needed South Yorks

Can anyone recommend an auto electrician around South Yorks area, preferably Sheffield area please. Are Cavendish Motors in Chesterfield still any good?

My 300tdi 110 seems to have an electrical problem as it won't start. Dashboard lights come on but It doesn't even turn over, just a click sound, then nothing. The battery is perfectly OK, but I think theres a wiring issue somewhere.

Its happened before when a wire to a switch came loose, stalling the car and preventing it starting again with same symptoms. It eventually started but with max revs as the accelerator cable had kinked.

Then It happened again last year where the mechanic found quite a few wiring issues, poor earth, burnt headlight wires etc. Again it eventually started but with max revs, the accelerator cable had kinked again.

But this time it won't start, just a single click sound when turning the ignition.

Sounds like the little wire to the soloniod on the starter motor has come unattached

Or the solenoid has jammed. First thing is to get someone to hold it on the start position and then tap the casing of the start smartly with wooden end of a large hammer to see if it frees off..

Could also be poor earth. Check the main neg cable from the battery.

All now rectified. I got it recovered to Cavendish Motors (Land Rovers) in Chesterfield and they diagnosed the following.

Corroded fuses in main fuse box
Corroded power supply cable to starter motor.

£84 invoice, which is far less than I was expecting as I thought it might take them forever to find the faults.
