Sorry if it's been asked before did a search but can't come up with owt.
Have drained the ATF (only got 4.5-5L out) and replaced it with same amount of fresh stuff. I recall it should take another 6L due to tranny box but before adding any more I checked the level on dipstick.
It's way above the high level (top hole in thd stick) however I take the measurement - be it with engine running and in N, P or without engine running.
Am I doing something wrong or is the disco fubar'd???
Thanks

T box has nothing to with the gearbox and an auto box retains aprox 5 litresof fluid in the torque converter which you are unable to drain.
With the engine from cold and running move the selector from P to R etc to 1st then back up to N and then check your fluid level, ive done it in P and N over the years and I've seen no difference at all on the dipstick.

Cheers discool, torque converter that's the one!
I did have a go at running through the gears first but to no avail.
Shall give it another go later I have a gift of making things more difficult than they really are ;)
