Ideas please.
Looking to buy a low mileage Td4 auto 75k.
Fault is described as loss of drive but having been relayed home it drives forwards and backwards.
Any ideas on likely fault please?

Do I budget a new box or a fluid change??

Is it the box, or could it be the IRD?

Until you're actually there, and able to try it yourself, you won't know.
Don't forget I sold my poorly TD4 auto, because it lost drive randomly. It was actually dropping to first from whatever gear it was in, making it appear to loosing drive. I couldn't find the fault, and gave up after the FL2 came along.
Maybe it has the same fault that my TD4 had? I did come across a couple of others with the same issue, both of them never got to the bottom of it either.
