auto box holding 1st to long?

Evening folks,like the title says my 300tdi auto has started holding on to first gear until about 3000rpm.
It would appear to be mainly when it is cold.
Any suggestions as to why this may be happening?.

Has the oil been changed recently? is it the right spec? and correct level?

Governor sticking with crud.
Usually happens after box has seen lots and lots of miles and bits of the clutch packs start coming off, mixing in the oil and clogging up parts like the governor.
Second instance is after an oil change when the detergents in the new oil free up old crud and stuffs the governor. Sometimes the problem goes away after a while, but if it doesn't, you would have to drop the transfer case to access the governor at the rear of the box.

Hoopfish, what is the latest on your transmission, did you get it sorted out yet?
