Auto box, help

I have a Td5 2001 Disco, how the hell do you check the auto box oil?
Is it easy for a novice to do? any one got pics of top up area, coz its hard to discribe I would imagine of how to do it. Its not such a simple dip stick I know. Was underneath it with a neighbour who knows his way around motors, can see a drain plug on the very bottom but where do you check level and how do you top up.
Any help much appreciated

To check the auto box oil you need get under the car and on the front of the autobox sump you will see a plug just over half way up the sump,near to where the oil cooler pipes cross under the gearbox.You will need to have it running in park when you check it.
