Auto box fluid

Hi everyone

Just changed the auto oil cooler pipes & replaced broken auto dipstick tube om my 300tdi Disco.

I drained the box to make life a little easier - however, now I'm not sure how much fluid to puty back into the box. Bit confused as I presume the torque converter wont have drained so wont need the full 9.1 ltrs.

Anyone got any clues??

i generally get 4.5 litres in mine but thats without the cooler

It's recommended to refill to the max level as shown on the dipstick and ignore the quantity.

I presume thats a fill from cold to the max on the dipstick then run it and do the normal checks?

Rich, your presumption is correct.

And don't 'over fill' the gear box, or any other bits that require oil.
