Well finally got the old girl to go properly. Over the last year 300tdi has always been a bit snail like performance wise, replaced lift pump, turned screw slightly on injection pump, cleaned sedimentor, changed fuel filter, adjusted valves, blanked egr, silicon hoses, cleaned airbox and intercooler and welded straight section to replace centre box. All of this just for minor improvement. Then yesterday welded straight section in place of filter/cat in front down pipe and the difference is unbelievable. Admittedly there is a little more noise to the exhaust note but I can live with that. Just makes it so much easier to drive and smoother too, wish I'd done this first. BTW 2m of exhaust pipe from local motor factors was only £10 so it was cheap option compared to about £100 replacing the pipes completely.
