Aren't Freelanders great?

Just want to say that my Freelander's been brilliant in the recent conditions; it's just so reassuring and confidence inspring that the weather isn't bothering me half as much as it did last year.

My other car is a BMW M3 and as you can imagine, it's nothing short of c**p in the winter, so I feel justified in shelling out for a nice 4x4 for the winter. Problem is that the M3 hasn't moved in the past 10 days, so I'm just wondering when I'm next going to get a chance to use it - plus I really enjoy driving the Freelander that it's a bit surplus to requirements at the moment (and I've only got a 2006 FL1 TD4, so you guys with the FL2 must be loving it even more).

Anyway, enjoy your cars safe in the knowledge that the white stuff won't bother us!

My FL1 TD4 auto has performed brilliantly over the last week in the white stuff. Much better than the Disco on flatish roads, I put that down to traction control which the Disco 1 hasn't got. Plus with heated screen, fbh, heated seats etc it is much more pleasant than the disco with the built in shower from the sunroofs!

Ours has been good too. The last snow I had a great time in our old Defender, but this time I'm in the Freelander, and having a great time BUT being warm, able to hear the radio, defrosting easily, etc.

Mrs Blip was last seen with the keys to her Puma 90 in one hand and a recovery rope in the other. Think she has gone out looking for victims.

Nothing troubled mine so far, mind you, when I see some deep stuff coming I tend to pretend im in a Bowler Wildcat and smash through it! havent had any problems so far!

For the more normal amongst us, I agree the freelander is awesome for this type of weather! I actually had to drive through 1.5ft of snow in the car park at work today, it didn't have the ground clearance but that didn't stop it. I stood watching from the comfort of the office window as the guy next door struggled in his discovery, rocking it back and forth.

What sunroofs?? none of my discos have ever had one??? mind the alpine lights do just as well as watering the carpets?? and all those heated gadgets int gonna help yu when there's a gale blowing and ya doors have fallen orf!!
