Are Brake Wear Sensors Standard on L322s?

Yep, I realise that this is probably a newb question.

I recently had a case of metal-on-metal action on one of the rears and only after spending out for a new rear disc/pads thought that maybe it would have been nice to know up front that things were wearing out (and only affecting one side).

I spoke to both my local (trusted) tire/brake place and the Land Rover main dealer and neither of them gave so much as a whisper that there should have been a warning light.

Reading the manual, I see that there's a warning light that could be brake wear or the loss of EBA.

So, should the car tell me that the brakes are wearing or not?

Cheers.

I had the same problem.
Previous owner obviously could not afford to buy the sensor (I think about £4) and had tied it around the suspension ?
Only one on the front and one on the rears
