are 5mm spacers enough

Got a td4 today with marshall road tyres and wnt to fit my AT tyres from my l series


Had a search and seen people have used spacers
My question is are 5mm spacers big enough and they ok to use

Dnt want out like that justwant to fit my infinity to new car without hasstke of going to garage with 2 wheels at a time

I don't think 5 mm will be enough. Just get the tyres swapped, it's easier in the long run and you will keep the correct wheels with the cars

Td4 wheels don't fit properly on L-series, "center hole" of rim is different

Centerhole is different? AFAIK centerhole is the same.

are you not using your L-Series anymore? are you going to keep changing wheels every time you want/need to drive it?

Because I got a td4 at a good price I have decided to sell my l series 3door as spares or repair because of the smoke on start up ( smokes when weather really cold the more freezing it is the worse it is)

The wheel swap is just because the infinityAT tyres I only fitted in june/July time I think where as the td4 had marshal tyres fitted

I would have thought that paying to swap the tyres over would be cheaper than buying spacers, and it keeps the right wheels on the right car. Spacers are a mod as well...

ah ok, centerhole is same size but shape inside rim is different so Td4's rims won't fit tight on L-Series' hubs,
L-Series' rims on Td4 hubs could work, not sure, "go for it"; after all it's just 5 nuts on each side
however I would stay away from non self-centering spacers

Toswap 8 tyres and balance is £10 each x8 wheels

Spacers were £12.99 x2


Might just leave the marshals on and fit some new tyres in summer

try fitting them, if ok great;
if not, start selling spares cheap you'll soon have £40 (you only need one set of wheels)

I would love to get my hands on a hard-top or a center-console if you have them for spares but postage to Portugal...

I got roof rails and a center console for sale I bought and added them both and selling as I got it... shame tho as I would love to fit the front fogs to the td4 but dnt wnt to sellwith 2big holes in the bumper

only difference between bumpers is upper grill, I think it is possible to fit L-Series front bumper on Td4 if you take the grill attached...
unless Td4 has FBH in that case there might not be room for both

The td4 does have fbh

5MM spacers will be enough for the older rims to clear the calipers on the Td4. I know because I've done it myself , but then went up to 30mm just a week later .

fuel burning heater aka FBH; burns fuel to heat up the cabin on very cold days, under 2ºC I think

So I get hot air incar faster than my l series

Asthat was my main proble with the l series unless iwas moving it never seemed to get warm which didnt help with a windscreen frozen on the inside

I don't know how it works exactlly but that is what it does
