It's my old engine.

Been sat in the corner for ages and I'm simply not going to use it.

Could do with converting it into a rear diff too, so selling it will help that! :)

Urm, Land Rover 3.5 EFi motor 9.35:1 (injection heads)

Compression is poor, head gaskets haven't yet been opened in it's 120,000 mile life and they are all good, was removed simply due to tiredness, needs a rebuild as usual BUT it will run very sweetly albeit tiredly if that's what takes your fancy.

It is block, crank, rods, pistons, cam, timing gear etc etc.

Basically a long motor with no extras.

I will get some pics.

Was thinking £100 for the short motor that seems to be going rate so was thinking nice figure £125 including heads and rocker covers etc.

Have got dizzy, sd1 timing cover, sump and oil pickup too but they won't fit landy setup.

Hope that's of interest to someone.

Cheers :)

Sunday bump

Would really like to sell this instead of having it rebored, start preparing it for a serpentine front end and supercharger build

So please

Somebody save me!

Think it's too big for a 3.5

Whilst you're here though and just quickly

I was thinking

Build a low comp (or maybe 9.35 I don't know what's best just guessing) 3.5 and pop a blower on

Easier than fitting a different type of engine all together

Same output if not more than a tasty 4.6 but without any liner problems or the expense of a top hat block, plus you get to have a supercharged engine for bling points.

See any holes in that plan?

No one buy it! I'd love to see another supercharger build. :D

Sorry Mr Noisy!

As for same output/more than a 4.6, you can get ~270 from a 3.5 with a single turbo so a supercharged 3.5 should be exciting. ;)

Would be a few years until anything happened

Good thing is if I say I'm gonna do something it usually happens unlike some :p

I'd guess it would be easier to drive the supercharger off a serp belt like zen has rather than using a toothed belt, as this is very bulky and negates viscous fan

Guess it depends what boost it starts slipping at

But yeah as far as I can see it's a sensible way to get good figures out of an essentially cheap reliable engine

Point regards the serp is id need a serp crank and front end to go with the 3.5 block rods and pistons

Would be a nice thing

If nobody buys it I don't mind will keep me entertained when I'm finished building my transmission

Need to speak to zen about compression ratios

You don't have to get a serp crank, the only difference in the vbelt/serp crank is that the key way in the nose of the crank is longer.

So you can keep the original crank for extra originality, get a later woodruff key for the crank nose and machine the key way in the crank. I was told when fitting a serpentine to a 3.5 there is drilling and tapping to do to the front of the heads as well.

But its probably easier to get a complete serpentine engine and use parts off that, rather than buy a front cover here, pulley there...

Thanks for that info

Ideally I'd like a shagged 4.6

Sell crank and pistons use heads scrap/sell block

Get 3.9 crank job done

Many different opinions on all this, including compression ratio

So far, the only guaranteed component I know I'm using is the 3.5 block :p

First job is to clean up and sell the 3.5 bits I don't need anyhow, put the rest ack in the corner and finish the transmission

Would settle my mind to decide on 8.13 or 9.35 though

Some say guaranteed to melt over 8.5, others say run higher compression and less boost for more efficient motor, which sounds reasonable
