Anyone tried this magnetized fuel lark??

A few companies sell magnets that go on the fuel lines which are supposedly good the the engine and fuel economy.

Is this a load of nonsense or worth a buy?

I would guess it makes any small metal particles stick to the fuel line around the magnet area. So who knows if it will make the MPG go up, but if it does collect metal particles, you can bet a pound to a pinch of **** it will eventually clog the fuel line.

you could try sticking a magnet on the fuel filter and see if MPG improves. I've heard tales of 99% savings using this method (on the magnets that is):D
 
its a load of bulls*** it doesn't do anything at all.

The idea is that the magnets alight the fuel molecules in the correct order for combustion. In reality they do nothing at all, we tested the magic carburettor as well which was claimed 90mpg. its false. it actually gave a lower mpg than the standard.

Source - My own tests on the uni engine test cells.
 
The only saving these magnets will ever offer you is when you don’t buy them, stopping you from wasting yer money.

Lets see the conclusions of these tests. Did you apply the right amount of magnets and in the correct order? You have to work out the surface area of the fuel lines and de-magnatise the tank to work out the amount of magnetic pull required to alight the molecules. anyone wanna buy some snake oil?

lol! What we where looking at whether any of these products actually offered any fuel savings at all, when following the manufactures guidelines. So we ran a control then added the parts one by one. Just to see what would happen. And we measured the fuel burn in each case to see if there was any improvement. We where only looking to see if they the makers claims where true and not would be necessary to make this a viable method. and in all cases the "miracle" fuel saving ideas all failed. The only one that worked was to use bottled hydrogen. But that almost blew up the lab!


Although that could be an interesting project to see what would be needed to get an improvement. But i can already write my conclusion...
