As above, does any know the rough weight of the landrover series 2.25 diesel lump. Im ment to be picking one up tommorrow afternoon but wont have use of my trailor till mid next week,, just wondering if I lined back of my Series pick up out with scaffolding boards would she take weight?.. or am I clutching at straws?

I picked a 2.3 pug diesel engine up in the back of my Series 3 a few weeks back. There was 3 of us in the Landy, then the engine, then an engine crane. It took the weight with ease :) I have got a 3mm metal sheet on the floor in the back though.

I can tell ya that it's fooking heavy but not that heavy that 2 peeps couldn't lift it off the floor to shift one.

two of us lifted a 2.25 last year and slid it in the back of me pickup, up a ramp, it will take the weight no prob, but if yer not used to shiftin heavy dead lumps of metal , try and get hold of a engine crane, only a tenner to hire, i wouldnt even line it with scaff boards, just a bit of ply 1/2", stand it on the sump and pack it out with 4x2 timbers , ;) and a few straps over it

On my own i could almost lift a 2.25 Derv without the head on, With the head on i am sure 2 people could shift one around
