I am looking for a complete 2.25 diesel engine to replace the dead Peugeot lump in a friends series 1.
Preferably 5mb and preferably running, but I know that might be a stretch.

Would be happy to give a light top/bottom end refurb, but don't really want to be going into a full strip and rebuild if I can avoid it. The more ancillaries included the better.

Does enay one have one tucked in the back of the shed they want to get rid of, or is anyone currently doing and engine swap on their series?

My 1984 ex-military 109 has a really good - though smokey - 5-bearing diesel. Apparently a Gold Seal Rover Factory Rebuilt Unit. Pulls like a train - which is a relative term, of course! Anyway, I am considering returning the old lady to her original 2.25 5-bearing petrol so would be interested in a swap, if you can lay your hands on something suitable.

Many thanks, I think I commented on your thread about swapping back. I will keep an eye out for a petrol as well and see which comes up first.

Ive got a 3mb diesel engine it runs was a little bit smokey and comes with everything although the alternators probably had it.

Thanks for the offer. Found a 5mb on facebook that turns freely but not heard running. Was very cheap though so worth the gamble and will likely be completely rebuilt anyway.
