Anyone have a source of sensibly priced old school blue anti freeze?

Last time I bought a 20 litre barrel (approx 18mths ago) it was about 40 quid, now they want the same money for ready mixed, ie half the qty of concentrate the rest being water,
Plus its getting harder to buy concentrate all people seem to sell is the ready mixed.

I saw some cheap stuff on eBay a few weeks ago but the figures didn't add up and didn't offer the usual level of anti freeze protection for a given mix

Halfords still sell it neat, although in one litre bottles so not the most cost effective way to buy.

If there isnt a MVF near you, most farm supply places are similarly priced

Was 55 quid for 25 litres, then next day up to 59.50 for 25 litres, go there and no 25 litres in stock! but plenty of 5 litres for 12.90 each, I can bear that so bought 20 litres, I have 4 engines and another cooling system I use this in, so should see me out a couple more years.

They sell pre mixed and concentrate. I buy the concentrated stuff, the link I posted is for concentrate good for -37 neat. The pre mix is here

No you have that all wrong, I think many of the adverts are badly worded or a play on words to get the unwary to buy the pre mixed, for anti freeze to do its job it needs to be mixed with water, as soon as the advert mentions a minus temperature that means its mixed and not concentrate, neat anti freeze ie concentrate actually freezes at not that cold a temperatures.

Already mixed is just fine, but it also means you are paying for water.

Rough rule of thumb is a mix of 50/50 is good for -30 to -35 degc, you need at least 30 percent antifreeze for it to do its job in the UK.
