Just wondered if anyone has ever cut them open to have a peek inside..

I'm sure they're quite simple, but how are the sidewalls constructed?

Just curious..

They're easy to detonate. Simply apply 12 Volts to the terminals.

However these things detonate with tremendous force, so you need to be well away from it, should it go skywards.

They are essentially inner tubes from a bike. But with more ribs and reinforcement to deal with the extra forces applied.

i just ripped them out and zip tied the sensors up out the way. Airlines are still dangling there now
Never bothered look sorry just went in bin was more interested in the replacements at the time, was long time ago now
Were 20yr old, flat and ripped anyway wouldn’t of held any pressure

Yes, although not my idea. It is just a tube of thin rubber with the caps at each end. Nothing inside. The Arnott gen 2 are thinner but tougher looking rubber / plastic than the Dunlop which are thicker but softer.

I had the bust one in my shed for years but threw it out a year or so ago.
