just wondered if anyone has any rear inner wing floor sections they aren't gonna use sitting around???
i've been completely re-building rusty, got complete new front end, all sills replaced, new rear arches, now i've got to the back and i can't get hold of any rear end panels:mad: i can fix up the inner wing sides but the side floor bits are completely shot and nobody seems to have any in stock, i'd rather not make em if i can help it.
anybody able to help out??

thanks for the tip ;) i'll have a look around, i was wondering that myself but i think they may have dissapeared too though, i haven't seen them advertised anywhere lately :(

cheers for that fellas :) i had a look about and found some genuine disco ones, hopefully a bit better quality tin and fit than the copy jobs. i'll let you know how easy they are to fit when i gets em :D

try finding a disco that hasn't got a rusty boot floor. i think they just found the crappest steel they could and used it:rolleyes:

LRO did a replacement rear floor on the classic RR using two new Disco floor repair sections cut & welded together as I think one was not quite long enough. It was within the last six months & would be worth your while digging up a copy.

that must be where i read it, i knew there was cutting involved somewhere:D

right, time for an update...
the middle steel boot floor section for a classic is no longer available anywhere
nor are any of the rear inner wing sides or floor sides  none at all not l/r or aftermarket. that includes disco 1 bits too
the company that made all the panels went bust a year or more ago parrently  and nobody has picked up on it and started nockin some out
i've ended up managing to source an new old stock pattern disco 1 nearside inner wing floor which fits at the front of the floor and round the wheel arch but is about 45mm short at the back and doesn't quite meet the rear crossmember so will need extending, also it doesn't have a spare wheel well:rolleyes: i'll have to cut a lump out and make one to drop in.

the off side i've made me own panel and grafted on the floor channel from a rust free 87' classic i found down the scrappie wasn't too bad really.

so for anyone looking for classic or disco 1 rear steelwork.... you're ****ed :D

is this wot yu are looking for?

don't tell me you got some mhm, i might just cry  yes that's wot i been dreaming of finding for weeks but as i said computer (and parts men everywhere) says no  i'm ok for the floor bits now but still have a fair bit of work repairing 70% of the rear inner wings. i tried absolutely everywhere but no joy.

i got millions boomer it was proper scary that it never self destructed when we was on the plain  only reason i've kept it was i fancied learning how to weld better  how silly i was it's taken me since xmas and still not done yet  here's a taster i'll get the rest on photobucket when it's finished ;)

Bloody ell, it should have fell to bits on the Plain!
That makes Dafts project pale into insignificance by comparison
(And you might finish yours quicker anorl) :D

tell me about it! i couldn't believe how bad it was when i lifted up the carpets and started having a poke about. if i'd stacked it with the kids in it i think the fella i bought it off would be getting a visit from the boys  i've had to do both front inner arches, 1 footwell, inner and outer cills both sides, most of both rear arches, rear cross member just got rear inner wings and all the rear floor to do :(

That's not a repair - thats restoration and preservation!

i certainly hope so ;) if i can't get at least a few years trouble free use and fun out of it before i see any more orange and brown nasties on it i think i'll take it to a pay and play and give captain chaos a run for his money :D:D

seriously tho i wanted to make sure it was repaired properly, after seeing how the previous owner welded patches to paper thin rust and covered it in black crap  is not good enough for me, not when the 3 kids want to come out and play too
