Any tyre bargains about for 18s?

My Disco 2 has 255/65 r18s fitted but they are getting toward the end of their life so im starting to look at replacements. Ideally Im after an all terrain type tyre. I appreciate its all been covered and that the choice is limited on that size and so on but has anyone recently got any good deals on tyres in this size anywhere?

Have a look at Camskill's website, they are pretty competitive usually.

Change to a second-hand set of 16" wheels then you'll have loads more choices.

16" are more comfortable on the road than 18" or 19".

yeah I am considering that option after looking at prices and choices.

Would changing to 16" wheels cause issues with the speedo etc?

No, not at all so long as you fit std. size tyres - 235/70/16 or 255/65/16.

Thanks thebiglad. 18 inch wheels on my D2 ES auto seem to give me less of a turning curve from what I remember on one with 16 inch wheels. I suppose there was a sound reason why LR put 18" on mine.

It's called the new car options list - bigger alloys are supposed to look posher.

I bought a set of 16" alloys second hand and 5 brand new BFG MTs for 125EUR each...and then bought a set of 16" modulars which have a greater offset (MTs looked strange on the alloys). Depends how much you want to spend and what kind of driving you do...road/offroad. 5 brand new modulars set me back around £180 including shipping to slovakia.

I have a set of General Grabber AT 2 tyres 255/55 R18 if you are interested. They have still lots of tread. I used to have them on my Disco TD5 ES as a winter tyre before I traded it in.
