Really interesting, guys! New fuel pump in September - previous fuel pump that failed was only fifteen months old (also from Britparts). My beloved L322 has been off the road for almost eight weeks (originally thought it was high pressure fuel pump, but it’s not) and garage now think it’s the fuel pump - only a few months old......from Britparts. Taking fuel pump back to Britparts tomorrow but have to either wait for manufacturer’s opinion on the pump or buy another and then wait for manufacturer’s opinion and get a refund, if they find part is faulty. Friend’s husband who is “Mr Land Rover Extraordinaire” didn’t have many compliments for Britparts.....

I never buy parts that I would call critical, from Britpart. By Critical I mean things that will stop me from starting and going, sometimes just as importantly, stopping too.

I've bought the odd part from britpart but it's always felt cheaped out on. The material, metal or plastics, are never as good as a Genuine LR part or high quality OEM part.

Some Britpart stuff is obviously poor, but other parts are identical to those supplied by other after market operations. P38 brake callipers have proved to be good for instance. When I ordered I was not expecting Britpart, but that is what arrived, been on the car over 5 years now.

Here here!

Britpart supply main dealer service centres with parts. They will specify whether the part is pattern, oem or genuine. You pays your money you makes your choice

.........on the quality of Britparts parts?

Short and to the point question!

Asking for an opinion on here? WW3 on its way.

After many nasty experiences I stay away from Britpart / Bearmach / Allmakes by default. Even their nuts and bolts are cr@p. Air-filters might be OK. I usually find you can the OEM supplier on here and a bit of ringing around usually finds them or a parts supplier very helpful and competitive, e.g. Lemforder for drag-link or LUK for the DMF. For parts that are a total bar-steward to get to I weigh up the risk of having to do it again and if I don't want the hassle I go Land Rover - spiral clutch pins, radius-arm bushes sort of thing.

Why? I thought you said the item was only a few months old, in which case it will be under warranty (2 years for BP) & the onus is on the retailer. What's all this returning it to the manuf. about?
Sorry if I've misread your post

I think you have missed my point by a country mile, I don't buy cheap parts for important applications, hence, I don't buy from Britpart (i.e in a britpart box) for important applications. Doesn't matter if Britpart are just a wholesaler, their name is on the box and their name is synonymous with varying quality, cheap, imitation parts.

Buy cheap buy twice.

i think youve missed my point genuine comes in britpart boxes too, and much of the genuine or branded will be bought through britpat

Whoops, monkfish24 - perhaps I shouldn’t have recently bought my brake pads from Britparts then!
