any ideas??!!

changed head gasket lapped valves in changed stem seals on 200tdi today. jus got tappets set and found small metal collar looks like an insert? not a locating dowel because it is solid and about 15mm diameter and 20mm high with chamfered edges on both ends. must have fallen out of somewhere?????

not sure it could be that because that sits inside the block? and the pushrod seat would have fallen out also therefore the pushrod wouldnt sit in? many thanks
