my mate was driving his discovery 300 tdi down the motorway today when it just cut out an it says check engine he has tried to restart it but its just turning over and will not start up any ideas what it could be.

would the bottom crank pulley turn if the belt had snapped ?


cheers guys sorry the info is vague its just what hes told me on the phone he is being towed back now with his kids in the back crying thay still wont to go to Alton towers :doh:

yes it would,but if you remove oil filler cap you can see rockers moving or not ,stop solenoid would be first check after that

there is no fuel getting to the pump or injectors ? he has just filled it up so its not ran out thanks for the quick replies guy
